poem in a hand in a here in a how, poem in the glow from which what takes the air does come and in coming, becomes the word on which a hill is built. a hill of our hoping over which flies a flock of such bright and sudden surprise that we, on a ground, in a found such that we too are brought into the clear air of here.

poem in a hand in a here in a how,
poem in the glow from which
what takes the air does come
and in coming, becomes
the word on which a hill is built.
a hill of our hoping
over which flies a flock
of such bright and sudden surprise
that we, on a ground, in a found
such that we too are brought
into the clear air of here.

vision of an eye unblinking; language migrating departure into return; the rhythm beneath a thumb gently caressing my wrist; the thumb itself; truth and how it fills the mouth pronouncing it; love and that you knew i would write it; light that breaks even itself; loss and the labyrinth of silence; the sky with its unassuming moon; a glass of water and each soul that fills it; now; and again; mothers; justice; poetry; patience; you. do we not submit ourselves to these forces from which we hope mercy to come
